Understanding Your Results
The Australian standard for methamphetamine residue on habitable surfaces is 0.5 micrograms per 100 square centimetres. Every result you receive from us is measured against that standard, and the comparison is what tells you whether decontamination is needed. Our advice is always anchored to the laboratory result, never to how a room looks, smells, or feels.
All sampling follows NIOSH 9111 methodology and all analysis is carried out by a NATA accredited laboratory. We test, or we coordinate decontamination, but never both on the same property, so the result you receive is independent.

What your result means
Below the standard
Where results come back as not detected, or detected below 0.5 micrograms per 100 square centimetres, no decontamination is required. You receive a report documenting that the levels sit under the Australian standard.
At or above the standard
Results at or above 0.5 micrograms per 100 square centimetres indicate that decontamination is warranted under the Australian standard. Your report sets out the documented levels so you have clear, independent evidence to act on.
Detected but low
Where residue is detected but sits below the standard, no decontamination is required. We note these levels plainly in your report so you have the full picture and there are no surprises later.
Vehicles
Vehicle assessments are measured against the same Australian standard. Where a vehicle result comes back below the standard, the outcome is issued as a screening report or test result report rather than a clearance certificate, because clearance applies only after decontamination has been verified.
